Our client, a major player in meat processing, was faced with the challenge of continuing to guarantee its production process despite major modification works to the refrigeration plant. The works would normally take eight days, but with the possibility of unforeseen delays, there had to be room for flexibility. So the customer needed a temporary, reliable cooling solution that could continue to support production at full speed even if the works took longer than planned.
Delta-Temp proposed a fully autonomous system, consisting of three powerful 400 kW chillers powered by a 500kVA generator with external diesel tank. A system that not only offered the customer continuity, but also fully matched the requirements of the meat processing industry. Safety was paramount: the customer uses Zitrec, a biodegradable refrigerant, which had to be separated from the standard refrigerant. Our experts ensured that this was properly separated via a heat exchanger.
Using a powerful pump, the Zitrec was conveyed through 4-inch hoses to the evaporators on the roof. The result? A cooling system that could maintain ideal temperatures of 1 to 2°C in both the production hall and the storage area. This made it possible for the customer to keep production running at full capacity.
The extensive work on the refrigeration system ran a little longer than planned, but that was not a problem. Thanks to our flexible rental system, the customer was able to extend the solution without any worries or include a test phase.
