Not only for keeping products at the right temperature, but also for employee well-being. How do you ensure that every area - from loading dock to sorting area - stays pleasantly cool, despite the heat outside?
Every day thousands of packages are processed at the sorting and storage center of one of our customers. And that number is only growing with the increase in online orders. Because of the enormous space and the different departments - from the loading dock to the sorting area - it was a challenge to maintain a pleasant temperature everywhere. Not only for the products, which had to remain at a constant temperature, but also for the employees, who could use some cooling. Fortunately, we had the perfect custom solution so that everything - from the products to the people - could go through the summer nice and fresh.
Our experts went on site to determine exactly what was needed to optimally cool each space. For the largest storage area, we chose powerful 200 kW and 300 kW chillers, combined with strategically placed airhandlers. In the sorting areas, smaller 50 kW chillers did exactly what was needed, while air hoses effortlessly dispersed the cool air. Where airhandlers couldn't reach, mobile air conditioners and evaporative coolers provided the ideal climate. This kept everything nice and fresh - from the products to the employees!
During the summer, we kept a close eye on the climate through our remote monitoring system, so we could quickly adjust the temperature when needed.
