Since the acquisition of Delta-Temp by Atlas Copco Rental, we have been working meticulously to find the right formula for joining forces. And this is already bearing fruit! With a big focus on communication, expertise and innovation, together we are building on efficient communication and our own - unique - strengths. Operations Manager Senne Mattens of Delta-Temp and Jeroen van Deventer, EU Business Line Manager Temperature at Atlas Copco Rental Europe, take us behind the scenes and share their vision of the future.
A 'one-stop shop' for all utilities
One of the major benefits of this partnership, is the ability to offer customers a wider range of products and services. "Our customers see it as a win that they can now turn to one party for both refrigeration systems and other utilities. This makes us a one-stop-shop for our industrial customers," Mattens says. Van Deventer adds the importance of single sourcing: "Customers of Atlas Copco Rental can now hire just about everything they need from one party, with all the expertise they need in-house. Not only cooling systems, but also our well-known compressed air, nitrogen and electricity solutions, as well as steam, hot and hot water systems." This not only makes our operation more efficient, but also increases the speed with which we provide solutions. "Our delivery speed is optimal," he says, "thanks to the efficient logistics services of both companies."
Cooperation in full synergy
We share not only a customer-centric approach, but also a can-do mentality. "We both have only one goal: to help our customer as quickly and efficiently as possible," says Jeroen van Deventer. "And it is particularly pleasant to work together with that approach."
"Delta-Temp has always focused on flexibility and quick decision-making," adds Mattens. "Our customers expect customized solutions as quickly as possible. It was quite surprising to see that this mentality is also alive at Atlas Copco, despite their size."
Van Deventer explains that Atlas Copco's values, such as innovation and sustainability, also resonate with Delta-Temp. The companies complement each other - not only in offerings, but also in corporate culture. "The challenges lie mainly in the structures," he says. "At an SME, decisions are made faster than at a large multinational. The more people you have, the more consultation is needed. But despite the differences in scale, we have created a culture where we further reinforce each other's strengths."
What does daily operation look like?
On the shop floor, therefore, cooperation is smooth. "We have regular contact to discuss day-to-day operations," Mattens says. "Our technicians and sales people learn a lot from each other: everyone has their own specialty and it's nice to see how we can exchange advice within the company."
Van Deventer adds that new practices have been introduced to improve cooperation. "For example, we have provided training to our sales team to familiarize them with Delta-Temp's refrigeration solutions and products," he says. "In the past, advice on cooling techniques was outsourced, but so now we have an in-house party that specializes in this!"
The future: innovation and expansion
The future looks bright! Energy efficiency and sustainability are high on the agenda, and so Delta-Temp can now call on Atlas Copco's extensive knowledge in this area. "We can do more energy-efficient solutions offer, which also meet more stringent environmental requirements," Mattens said. In addition, the international presence of Atlas Copco doors for further expansion in Europe. "Atlas Copco Rental's huge network is impressive," says Mattens. This allows Delta-Temp to take on larger and more complex projects and apply the customer-centric approach on a larger scale.
Van Deventer first sees opportunities in further growth of expertise: "We certainly want to use our network to grow this further. But the first step is to invest in our people and their expertise. After all, they are the people who make innovative solutions a reality!"
