With the advent of the internet, and especially after the COVID-19 crisis, more and more people are ordering their products online. Thousands of packages are processed daily in the sorting center before being shipped to the end customer.
It goes without saying that we are talking about a gigantic space here. It is divided into different departments that work closely together, from cargo flights to loading docks. Cooling this space efficiently is quite a feat.
Renting industrial air conditioning tailored to each space.
Our product manager visited the site to determine the most effective approach to this project. He calculated the required cooling capacity and air flow rates for each department. A customized solution was devised for each space, taking into account technical capabilities and facilities.
The large storage space was cooled using modern chillers of 200kW and 300kW combined with powerful air handlers spread throughout the entire space. The sorting areas were climate-controlled using smaller chillers, each with a capacity of 50kW. Custom-made air ducts were used to distribute the cooled air as efficiently as possible throughout the space. Delta-Temp also offers a wide range of accessories to fully configure a temporary cooling system à la carte.
In places where it was not possible to use a chiller or air handler, our evaporative coolers and portable air conditioners were deployed. This ensured a pleasant climate for every employee in every space.
Too cold…
Throughout the summer, this setup provided a pleasant and healthy climate, even when it was scorching hot outside.
The setup worked so well that some staff members requested it to be 'slightly less cold'. No problem. Through the remote monitoring system, we could adjust the chiller to the desired temperature remotely.
After the project, our product manager met with the client to discuss what went well and what could be improved for the following year. This way, we build a sustainable relationship with each client to always provide them with the best possible solution.
